How long will my Chinese Tourist Visa take to process?

This information applies to the Chicago Chinese Consulate.

I often get asked what exactly does 4 days mean or 48 hour processing mean?

Well here are some scenarios so you can plan your schedule.

Using the standard 4 day service (Best case scenario and usually ready by 9AM)

Turn it in on Monday - It will be ready on Friday
Turn it in on Tuesday - It will be ready on Monday of the following week
Turn it in on Wednesday - It will be ready on Tuesday of the following week
Turn it in on Thursday - It will be ready on Wednesday of the following week
Turn it in on Friday - It will be ready on Thursday of the following week

Using the standard 48 Hr rush service (Best case scenario)

Turn it in on Monday - It will be ready on Wednesday
Turn it in on Tuesday - It will be ready on Thursday
Turn it in on Wednesday - It will be ready on Friday
Turn it in on Thursday - It will be ready on Monday of the following week
Turn it in on Friday - It will be ready on Tuesday of the following week

Using the standard 24 hr rush service (Best case scenario)

Turn it in on Monday - It will be ready on Tuesday
Turn it in on Tuesday - It will be ready on Wednesday
Turn it in on Wednesday - It will be ready on Thursday
Turn it in on Thursday - It will be ready on Friday
Turn it in on Friday - It will be ready on Monday of the following week
